Wonderful Wednesday: It’s the Little Things

I’m the kind of gal who obsesses over details, and just like any other borderline debilitating disorder, this has been and remains to be both a gift and a curse. Now, there’s some details I just can’t abide by (rosettes, I’m snarling at you) and you’ve all read me rail against¬†unnecessary¬†ruffles and fringe. But sometimes bad details can make for great style.

Rosette Mesh Dress: $22.80

Get ready to sweat the small stuff.

It’s Wonderful Wednesday.

Raw Edge Tier Skirt: $24.80

I admit this look is not for everyone. If it’s done wrong you could easily end up looking like a pale pinata. But with a soft and simple top, the ruffled details make a lovely contrast.

Belted Trench Coat: $37.80

If you’re a bit overly blessed on top, I wouldn’t suggest trying this trench. However, the sweeping ruffle on the collar ads a fun touch to an old standby basic.

Pleated Surplice Dress: $27.80

Now for something a bit friendlier to us boobalicious babes. The top has got a little more wiggle room for all that glorious jiggle and the pleats keep an extra helping of cleavage from turning too cheaky.

Bugle Beaded Clutch: $23.80

This is one of my favorite items Forever 21 has ever sold. I have no idea where I would wear this, no idea what I would wear it with, but damn if all that sparkly bead work doesn’t glitter like a Liberace tangerine in the sun.

Forever 21, Wonderful.

  1. oh no! forever21 must have kidnapped and shipped you off to one of their labor camps in indonesia, then hacked your blog and posted some good press about themselves… don’t worry, i’m sure i speak for all of your readers when i say that we will band together and rescue you from a life of sore fingers due to sequins!

I kid, I really do like that clutch, I couldn’t have described it better myself.

Haha. Maybe I’m getting soft in my old age. And yes! I love that clutch! I have been coveting it for months.

  3. I love the rosette dress. It looks like the rosette sweater from American Apparel. I have the sweater, so I feel like to have the dress would be a bit of overkill (maybe not lol)

  4. Love that clutch! And I love your blog…too funny. You voice what the rest of us are thinking. Love it!

I have the rosette dress! I bought it, thinking it would be a great interview dress, because it seemed pretty professional looking, but it is now a party dress as it is a lot sexier than I expected it to be, being short and tight :)
