Wonderful Wednesday: The Dark Knight Rises to Steal Catwoman’s Style

By now I am sure a plump handful of you have seen the very anticipated, very controversial and very good The Dark Knight Rises.

With all its action packed, fanboy pleasing, comic book come to real life content, The Dark Knight Rises may also be the most emotional comic book movie in recent history. Where the final third of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy really shines is in the characters, not in the crash and burn.

And like all good little clothes obsessed gals who watched Anne Hathaway struck, circle and flip around the screen, I was captivated not only by her mental and physical acrobatics, but also by her black and beautiful style.

Today I’ll show you how to dress like Catwoman, minus the Cosplay and without a jewel thief’s budget.

Meow, my chickens. It’s Wonderful Wednesday.

Wonderful Wednesday: The Great Gatsby

As far as fashion is concerned, the ’20s was one of the sexiest decades in American history.

Everything a woman wore had a loose quality to it. As if at any moment, with the next jitterbug or Charleston shake, her clothes could slip right off.

It was a different kind of sensuality. It was about luxury. Glitz, glam and excess. Gin martinis, champagne coupes overflowing with bubbly, liquid gold.

WEALTH, my chickens. Lush, seductive wealth. It was an evil time. It was the calm before the storm and the moment before real desperation.

But just because Gatsby spent his whole life breaking the law and doing business with dangerous bedfellows just to impress one snotty rich girl into loving him, doesn’t mean you have to turn into a one-track-mind, label whore to look roaring twenties chic.

Wonderful Wednesday: Palms Springs Getaway

One thing I love about being an adult is the ability to design and decide my own vacations.

You see, I’m turning 28 in August of this year and after much deliberation and doubt and a whole lot of “I’m too old to celebrate my birthday” thoughts, I have decided on not only WHAT I want to do for my birthday but also on where I want to be.

And that where happens to be in the desert. Palm Springs to be exact. The crazy hipster haven of The Ace Hotel in Palm Springs to be even more so.

Photos courtesy of Flickr users massdistraction, joeywan and Mathew Foster.

Just picture it. Sun, fun, drinks, cabanas, fire, food and poolside shenanigans. Baking in the delightful haze of cheeseburgers and frozen liquor treats. All this and more I could not resist.

Now there’s only one thing left to do, chickens.

Plan the outfits!

Get ready for the hot, hot heat!

It’s Wonderful Wednesday.
